About Dr Shanker's Dispatch

This is a collection of my written work, directly transcribed from my typewriter. It is a series of essays and thoughts. It is inspired by my own life as a foreign surgeon working in Bulgaria.

About me: Dr Aparajeya Shanker

I am a doctor, a surgeon in training, currently working in a remote hospital in Bulgaria. I am not comfortable with sharing where exactly, but I believe that my reflections will find common ground with other surgeons-in-training and those of us who have to live in foreign countries while doing our duty.

This is not a political blog, and because I have neither the inclination nor the interest, this blog will not discuss political matters. Controversial matters, yes. There is a wealth of controversial and provocative topics in medicine, surgery and the interplay with ethics and culture and those will be explored in depth here.
